The Homeless Island concept started in 1993 with a group of boys in mid-Missouri whose dreams far-exceeded their reach at the time, destined to work in either agriculture, vehicle mechanics or the military. These boys used video cameras to create a series of film shorts that have never seen the light of day. They called themselves the Homeless Society. The secret location of Homeless Island is protected to this day, but the spirit of the enchanting lake that the island rests in, still lingers in stories told by people in that region.
Founded in January 2007, Homeless Island Pictures has become an independent film production company based in Monterey, California. Homeless Island has broken silence and pursues the greatest adventure in American history; that is, to live the American dream. The owner of Homeless Island Pictures, Christopher Ward, works day and night to rally film visionaries who celebrate artistic freedom. Christopher Ward has traveled the world gaining support for Homeless Island Pictures in order to make the company's productions a global experience.
Homeless Island Pictures draws on a talented pool of collaborators that include independent directors of photography, sound recordists, editors, and cinematographers from all corners of the globe, to create memorable, affecting films.
